Revell 1/32 Ju 88A-1 build - Cockpit, Right Sidewall

Hello again!  Time to start tackling the cockpit.  I'll start where the instructions start - with the right sidewall - and work my way around.  First step is to compare the model parts to the reference pictures and see what should be done - then decide what I WILL do.   The reference pics I have from the site mentioned in the previous post don't have a great overall view of the right side, but a few of them put together - combined with the detail shots - give a great start.  Here are the over-all shots I could find:...

Revell 1/32 Ju 88A-1 build - Reference Photos

Hello again! As usual, the first step is to gather photos of the subject build.  I don't have the cash to buy books, so my sole source is the internet.  This is usually not an issue these days, as I am sure you know, as there is often a wealth of info out there...except with the Ju 88!  It turns out that there is little to be found - about type, let alone the A-1.  I guess not many survived?  Or maybe it is just not a popular enough subject :(   Here's a summary of what I could find. Revell 1/32 Ju 88A-1, What's in the Box?

Welcome back to my build of the Revell Ju 88A-1 in 1/32! Sprues/Decals: As to be expected, the monster box holds some monster sprues.  13 sprues, including the clear parts if I count correctly.  Here are a few of them to get a taste of what you can expect from this model: Wings (above) - more than 9 inches long. Fuselage (above), almost 18 inches long. Other assorted gigantic parts! A lot will be seen through these clear parts.  No way to hide a poorly done cockpit! Decals for 2 versions, of which 1 is from the Battle of Britain...

Revell 1/32 Ju 88A-1 build

Hello!  My name is Dave and I run Duplicata Productions, a maker of scale model accessories.  I have been building models of all kinds for more than 30 years, but starting and then running the business has taken so much effort that I have not been able to build anything for a long, long time.  I figured that blogging about my builds might give me a few benefits:   a) The shot in the arm I need to sit down and actually build again.  I think it is a lot harder to skip a build session if people are watching...
